Why not just use MPGe?

MPGe measures energy, not money: it treats 33.7 kWh as one gallon. It can't tell you whether charging is cheap or expensive where you live. Cost-equivalent MPG answers the question you actually have: "what gas mileage would match this EV's running cost at my prices?" More on the MPG translator.
